If you have questions or concerns about the upcoming census, meetings Tuesday can answer those questions.
The League of Women Voters has a special event at the Emporia Public Library on Tuesday evening. The presentation is called “Understanding the 2020 Census: How It’s Done and Its Importance.” During KVOE’s Newsmaker 2 segment Monday, League spokesperson Teresa Briggs said efforts like this are important for the group because they help to dispel myths people may have.
The meeting starts at 6:30 pm.
Meanwhile, two events geared towards Emporia’s Hispanic community are coming Tuesday. “Todos Cuentan,” or “Everyone Counts,” will provide information about the process and the need to participate.
These information meetings begin at 10 am and 6 pm at the Bowyer Building. They are sponsored by USD 253 Migrant Education, Flint Hills Learning Center, St. Catherine Church and Hispanics of Today and Tomorrow. English speakers are also welcome to attend.
