The Emporia High boys basketball team opens play in the Ralph Miller Classic in Chanute Thursday afternoon.
The Spartans will play Olathe North with tip-off set for 4:45p. Senior Beau Baumgardner says this is a chance to improve.
The game will be broadcast on KVOE 1400AM/96.9FM.
The other first round games have Chanute playing Andover Central.
Goddard faces Soldan.
and Shawnee Mission South plays the Wichita Defenders.
The Flint Hills Shoot Out resumes Thursday at White Auditorium in Emporia with the Consolation semi-finals.
3pm Council Grove girls play Central Heights
4:30p Osage City boys play Central Heights
6pm Lyndon girls play West Franklin
7:30p Chase County boys play West Franklin
There are several re-scheduled games to be played Thursday including Olpe at Lebo.
Olpe with a win can clinch the Lyon County League regular season championship and the number 1 seed for the Lyon County League Tournament. Olpe girls coach Jesse Nelson knows they will have to play well.
In the boys game Lebo can clinch the number 2 seed for the League tournament with a win. Lebo Coach Dwayne Paul says they will need to be locked in on both ends of the floor.
Both the girls and boys game will be broadcast on Country 101.7FM.
