The Emporia State baseball improved to 2-0 on the season with a 7-2 win over Southwestern Oklahoma State Saturday in the Edmond First pitch classic hosted by Central Oklahoma.
The Hornets scored 4 runs in the 6th on a throwing error and a 3 run home run by Sam Chaput.
Connor Hurst drove in two runs with a single in the 8th.
Blake Carroll added a solo home run in the 9th.
Jared Kengott was the winning pitcher, going 5 innings giving up no runs on 4 hits.
The Emporia State baseball team will close out their trip to Oklahoma today with a game against Henderson State.
