After waiting 50 years to see the Kansas City Chiefs win the Super Bowl Sunday, local Chiefs fans had to wait just one day more to get Chiefs merchandise from local retailers.
Emporia’s local sports retailer AKA The Sports Fan has begun receiving merchandise commemorating the Chief’s world championship. They currently have long-sleeved t-shirts in stock and available and just in time too as Cindy Binder of AKA says there has been quite the demand for championship apparel.
Additional merchandise is still on its way to the store but Binder says she is confident it will not affect their sales as they have a very “loyal” local clientele. According to Binder, once the rest of their order arrives the store will be flush with t-shirts, mugs, car accessories and much more for every true Chief’s fan.
Binder says they do have a list going for those wishing to have first dibs on merchandise once it arrives. If you would like to be added to the waiting list you’re asked to call AKA the Sports Fan at 620-341-9934 or stop by the store at 524 Commercial Street.
The Kansas City Chiefs claimed their first Super Bowl championship in 50 years defeating the San Francisco 49ers 31-20 in Super Bowl 54 Sunday evening in Miami Florida.
