The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation’s mission of ensuring the future of the elk population and their habitat was further supported after Saturday night’s benefit auction.
The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation (RMEF) was founded by four men from Montana in 1984. Their idea behind the group was to protect the future of the namesake animal, and all those animals who fit in its ecosystem, says Steve Ewing of RMEF.
RMEF is a national organization, but there is a local chapter that is very active with area outdoors and wildlife groups. Ewing talks about the RMEF’s local impact.
The event started at 5:00 pm where participants gathered for food, drinks, and to bid on the high-quality items available in the auction. For more information on the RMEF, go online at rmef.org.
