Washburn Rural put together 4th quarter rallies to out score the Emporia High girls and boys basketball teams Tuesday night.
In the girls game Rural used a 10-0 run to start the 4th quarter to erase an Emporia High 25-22 lead and out scored the Lady Spartans 39-28. The game was tied at 8 at the end of the 1st quarter. It was tied at 17 at halftime. Coach Carolyn Dorsey said they ran out of steam.
Allie Baker was the leading scorer for Emporia High with 9th points.
In the boys game Washburn Rural scored the last 7 points to out score the Spartans 38-31.
The game was tied at 31 with 3:14. Coach Beau Welch said they missed to many opportunities.
Charles Snyder scored a team high 15 points to lead Emporia High in scoring.
The Emporia High girls and boys play at Topeka West Friday.
