The Emporia High girls and boys basketball teams were winners at Topeka West Friday night.
The Lady Spartans out scored West 49-26. After a slow start Emporia High used a 16-9 second quarter to build a 10 point halftime lead and never looked back in the 2nd half.
Macey Adams was the leading scorer off the bench with 10 points. Coach Carolyn Dorsey was pleased with Maceys effort.
The Emporia High boys out scored Topeka West 61-52. The Spartans led from beginning to end to end a 3 game losing skid.
The Spartans used a 13-0 run to build a 18-5 lead at the end of the 1st quarter. West would cut the lead to 2 points in the 3rd quarter but never got closer. Coach Beau Welch said they did a good job of handling Topeka Wests defensive pressure.
Charles Snyder scored 22 points to lead Emporia High. Skyler Douglas added 15 points.
The Emporia High girls and boys host Junction City Monday.
