The Emporia State baseball team swept a doubleheader from Metro State Saturday.
The Hornets won the first game 5-2. The Hornets scored single runs in the 1st, 2nd, 5th, 7th and 9th innings.
Connor Hurst was 2 for 5 with an RBI. Jake Burton was the winning pitcher, going 7 innings giving up no runs on 7 hits with 11 strikeout.
Emporia State won the 2nd game 9-6. The Hornets took the lead for good with 6 runs in the 4th inning.
Cooper Minick was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored.
Josh Norlin was 2 for 4 with 3 RBI.
With the sweep the Emporia State baseball team is now 6-2 for the season. They are scheduled to play a doubleheader against Metro State again Sunday.
