Presentations and requests for significant roadwork northwest of Emporia will be at the top of the Lyon County Commission’s weekly action session agenda Thursday.
Lyon County Appraiser Ryan Janzen will present the 2020 valuation trends for Lyon County to the commission. Separately, Lyon County Engineer Chip Woods has multiple items up for approval including a quote from APAC-Kansas Inc. Shears Division for significant work on Americus Road.
The specific work will entail placing a level 1-1/2 inch overlay with a “shoulder edge wedge” from Road 260 to Road 290 for an estimated cost of just over $645,000. A presentation from Lelan Dains of Dirty Kanza Promotions for the annual DK assortment of races will also take place. During the consent agenda portion of the meeting where multiple items can be approved with just one vote, commissioners may approve a payment to Election Systems and Software, LLC in the amount of $44,530.
The meeting begins at 9 am inside the Lyon County Courthouse.
