Have you ever wanted to attend Mardi Gras, but can’t make it to New Orleans? Well, there is no reason to fret because the Lyon County History Center is bringing Mardi Gras to Emporia.
The History Center will be hosting the Lyon County Historical Society’s Mardi Gras Gala fundraiser Saturday evening. The night will include music, games, a silent auction and an eclectic selection of foods according to History Center Director Greg Jordan.
Jordan says amongst the delectable offerings will be traditional hot dogs and bottled Coca-Cola. Jordan says there is a very important reason for this specific menu item.
Tickets are available for the gala at the Lyon County History Center and cost $30 for individuals or $50 for two. All proceeds from the gala will be used to bring traveling and temporary exhibits to the Lyon County History Center.
The Mardi Gras Gala will run from 5-9 pm. For more information contact the Lyon County History Center at 340-6310.
