Augustana scored 10 runs in the 4th inning to defeat the Emporia State baseball team 14-6 Friday.
Emporia State scored 5 runs in the first inning. Sam Chaput drove in 2 runs with a double and Paul Classen drove in 3 runs. Chaput added a solo homerun in the 3rd inning giving the Hornets a 6-1 lead. Augustana erupted for 10 runs in the 4th inning to take a lead they would not give up. Emporia State Coach Seth Wheeler tipped his hat to Augustana.
Emporia State and Augustana are scheduled to play a doubleheader Saturday beginning at noon.
