The Emporia State softball team out scored Sioux Falls 7-2 Saturday in the 5 State Classic being played at the Trusler Sports Complex.
Cassidy Beem hit a grand slam in the first inning as the Lady Hornets scored 6 runs to take a lead they would not give up.
Emporia State is scheduled to play Minnesota State today at 2pm.
The tournament is slated to wrap up Monday.
