Mardi Gras came to Emporia on Saturday for the Lyon County Historical Society’s Mardi Gras Gala.
The Mardi Gras Gala filled all three floors of the Lyon County History Center with cajun-themed activities, food, drinks, and desserts for more than one hundred attendees.
Historical Society Board President Colleen Mitchell is a huge advocate for preserving local history and says the Historical Society appreciates these events, as it opens the doors for newcomers to experience the History Center.
The History Center has been going through updates and renovations recently, and funds raised at the Gala will help with these efforts as well as fund new exhibits, says Mitchell.
