Cassidy Beems walk-off 2 run homerun in the bottom of the 8th inning lifted the Emporia State softball team to a 4-3 win over Minnesota State Sunday.
Beem was 2 for 3 at the plate with 2 RBI.
Minnesota State scored single runs in the 4th and 5th inning to tie the game and send it to extra innings. Minnesota State broke the 2-2 tie in the top of the 8th.
Hannah Steeby hit a 2 run home run in the 3rd inning to give the Lady Hornets the early 2-0 lead.
The Emporia State softball team was 3-1 in the 5 State Classic. Mondays scheduled games in the Classic have been canceled.
The Emporia State softball team will play in a tournament hosted by Washburn beginning Friday.
