The moderate to occasionally heavy rain that started Sunday evening is causing some travel issues in Greenwood County.
Emergency Management Director Levi Vinson says the typical areas that have flooding issues are now impassable. This follows anywhere from 1.5 to 2.5 inches of rainfall Sunday night and Monday morning. As a result, the National Weather Service has extended a flood warning originally set to end Monday afternoon until 2:30 pm Tuesday.
Chase County also saw up to 2 inches of rain at Lake Kahola, but no flooding has been reported.
Greenwood County remains in a flood warning until 2:30 pm, while Chase and Greenwood counties are in a flood watch until 3 pm. So far, no flooding issues have been reported in either county.
Rain and snow are possible at times through Tuesday night, but accumulations will be light. We’ll keep you updated on KVOE, KVOE.com and KVOE social media.
