The St. Patrick’s Committee is now into the thick of its fundraising process.
The committee’s annual auction is Friday night at Bruffs Sports Bar and Grill. The auction represents 50 days of crammed behind-the-scenes work to gather items and raise funds for groups helping children and veterans. Organizer Denise Gilligan thanked the community as a whole for supporting the cause.
Fifteen groups and the committee’s scholarship at Flint Hills Technical College will receive funding from this event as well as other fundraisers March 14, including the Leprechaun Dash 5K, Luck of the Irish Ace Chase disc golf tournament, Downtown Emporia business Bar Association Pub Crawl and sales of T-shirts and raffle tickets for chances to win $200 in case, a 65-inch TV or half a side of beef. The list of beneficiaries is online with our story at KVOE.com.
There will be a silent auction at 6 pm with a live auction at 7.
