The Emporia State baseball team run ruled Missouri Southern 12-0 Saturday in 8 innings.
The Hornets scored 5 runs in the 2nd inning. Sam Chaput hit a 2 run homerun and Brady Michel added a 2 run homerun. Michel also hit a 3 run homerun in the 7th inning.
Connor Hurst hit a grand slam in the 8th inning to end the game.
Jared Kengott was the winning pitcher going 7 innings giving up 4 hits and had 7 strikeouts.
Emporia State and Missouri Southern play the final game of the series Sunday afternoon with first pitch at 12 noon.
