The Emporia State women out score Northwest Missouri State 80-52 in the quarterfinals of the MIAA Tournament Thursday.
The Lady Hornets jumped out to a 21-9 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. Coach Toby Wynn said they set the tone with that first quarter.
They led 38-25 at halftime and 60-41 going to the 4th quarter. Mollie Mounsey scored an Emporia State career high 30 points.
Tre’Zure Jobe added 24 points.
Morgan Lauden finished with 11 points. Fredricka Sheats finished with a game high 10 rebounds. The Lady Hornets forced 17 turnovers and scored 22 points off the turnovers. Emporia State will next play Saturday at 2:15pm against the winner of Fridays game between Nebraska Kearney and Missouri Western.
In the other quarterfinal game Central Missouri out scored Washburn 65-61.
