Funeral services are coming Friday for Larry Howard, a longtime Emporia firefighter and one-time fire marshal for the city.
Howard passed away Feb. 26 at Wichita’s Ascension Saint Francis facility after a short battle with cancer. He was 73.
Howard was born in 1947 in Topeka. He served in the Navy and was a Vietnam War veteran. He also served with the Emporia Fire Department for 26 years and was fire marshal for 11 years before retiring.
Howard is survived by his wife, Jo, along with three daughters, a son, 11 grandchildren, a great-grandson, four brothers and two sisters.
A Celebration of Life will take place at New Life Christian Church at 4 pm.
