Northwest Missouri State scored in each of the first 3 innings on the way to a 6-1 over the Emporia State baseball team Friday.
The Bearcats scored 6 run on 10 hits in the first 6 innings. The only Emporia State run came on a home run by Sam Chaput in the 7th inning.
Coach Seth Wheeler said they just could not get the offense going.
The loss is the first in MIAA play for the Hornets.
Emporia State and Northwest Missouri State play game 2 of their series Saturday afternoon with first pitch at 2pm.
