The season came to an end for the Emporia High boys basketball team Friday night. Andover out scored the Spartans 49-45 in a Sub-State Championship game.
The Spartans did not go down without a fight. The Spartans out scored Andover 11-7 in the 2nd quarter to take a 19-16 lead at halftime. Andover used a 16-9 run in the 3rd quarter to take a 32-28 into the final 8 minutes of play.
Emporia High Coach Beau Welch said he was extremely proud of his team.
Emporia High was led by Charles Snyder with 26 points and 11 rebounds. Beau Baumgardner added 9 and Skyler Douglas finished with 7 points.
The Spartans finished with a 12-10 record.
