Two months after declaring his intent, Lyon County Attorney Marc Goodman has formally filed for re-election.
Goodman announced his intentions on KVOE’s Talk of Emporia in January. He is seeking his sixth term in office.
Goodman’s filing means all incumbent department heads — County Clerk Tammy Vopat, Register of Deeds Wendy Weiss, Sheriff Jeff Cope and Treasurer Sharon Gaede — have formally filed for re-election. All are currently unopposed, either for the primary Aug. 4 or the general election Nov. 3.
Two Lyon County Commission seats are on the ballot as well. Rollie Martin, the incumbent for the Third District, is currently unopposed. Dan Slater, the incumbent in the Second District, is not running after two terms in office. Three Republicans, Robert McClelland, Phil Mott and Doug Peck, are running to replace Slater.
The filing and withdrawal deadline is June 1.
