The city of Emporia is announcing major schedule adjustments for several departments to help reduce the potential spread of coronavirus.
The city has announced the Municipal Court will be closed until further notice, meaning individuals with court hearings between Mar. 16 and Mar. 20 will be rescheduled for a different time. The lobby will remain open, however, the city is strongly recommending individuals who need to make payments do so through dropbox, mail or by calling 343-5666.
The Water Office is also highly recommending residents pay utility bills by dropbox, online at payments.emporia-kansas.gov, over the phone by calling 343-4244 or by mail. Residents are asked to limit lobby use at the office until further notice.
Emporia Fire Stations 1 and 2 will be closing their lobbies to the general public until further notice while the Emporia Police Department lobby will remain open. The Public Works office will be temporarily closed to customers beginning Tuesday, however, customers may still call the office at 343-6330 or 343-6339.
