Churches across the KVOE listening area have not been immune to the schedule adjustments now commonplace as a result of coronavirus.
Sunday saw many churches try new avenues to preaching the word of God. Among them was Messiah Lutheran Church, which moved its weekly worship service to the Lyon County Fairgrounds and used a drive-in format. Pastor Eddie Hosch’s message was part of the service that aired on KVOE. Hosch concentrated on the Gospel of John, chapter 9, where Jesus’ disciples asked whether a blind man sinned or his parents had sinned to make him blind.
First United Methodist Church, meanwhile, continued its weekly broadcast on KVOE — but unlike most Sundays, there was nobody in the congregation.
Several denominations used their websites or Facebook Live to broadcast their normal Sunday services. Others, however, are closed until the COVID-19 situation eases up.
