Strong thunderstorms are possible from late Friday night into early Saturday.
All hazards are possible, but the biggest risk by far is large hail. Heavy rainfall is also possible.
Strong and severe thunderstorms developed north of Emporia late Thursday night and stayed there before leaving the area altogether after midnight. Storms began forming north of US Highway 56, bringing golf-ball-sized hail to central Morris County and heavy rain across Morris, Wabaunsee and Osage counties. None of that activity came close to Emporia.
