Evergy customers near Madison were in the dark for around five hours Saturday.
An outage developed near the community around 1:45 pm and wasn’t restored until around 6:45 pm. Most of the nearly 140 affected customers were just east of Madison, including the unincorporated community of Lamont.
The cause is currently undetermined.
2:45 pm Saturday: Over 100 Evergy customers without power near Madison
Residents in northern Greenwood County are contending with a power outage Saturday afternoon.
Evergy says over 130 customers just east of Madison lost power shortly after 1:45 pm. The outage is apparently centered between Madison and Lamont along Kansas Highway 58.
Evergy has not detailed a cause. The company’s outage map estimates a return to service around 3:30 pm.
Smaller outages have also developed east of Hamilton and in Aliceville.
