It has been less then a week since the Lyon County Disaster Relief Fund was established and the response has been impressive to say the least. Over 200 N95 masks were recently donated to Newman Regional Health, Graves and Country Mart.
Newman Regional Health received 160 masks, Graves and Country Mart received 40 masks each.
The Lyon County Disaster fund was set up last week to support medical, community and business needs by Emporia Main Street, KVOE and the Emporia Community Foundation.
Main Street Director Casey Woods says that the donation is thanks to a great response from the community.
The N95 masks go along with the over 1000 masks that have been made by community members.
Woods adds that even though the response has been tremendous the need for donations of money and masks continues.
Residents are able to donate online or by sending money or checks to Emporia Main Street at 727 Commercial Street, Emporia KS, 66801. Residents are asked to make all checks payable to the Lyon County Disaster Relief Fund.
