The rise in positive COVID-19 cases for Coffey County is continuing.
The Coffey County Health Department announced two more positive cases Tuesday evening. The cases involve an 86-year-old female and a 70-year-old male.
The two new cases, as well as the additional 14 Coffey county cases and three of Lyon County’s 12 cases, have been linked to Life Care Center in Burlington. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment identified Life Care as the common link between the cases Monday and are currently looking into what may have led to the spread within the facility.
The health department says it has contacted those who were exposed to these cases and will be actively monitoring those individuals for signs of symptoms for the next 14 days.
