If coronavirus has you looking for a new job, the Kansas Department of Commerce has developed a new resource to help.
The department has launched a new website, www.kansasworks.com/coronavirus, to connect job hunters with businesses seeking employees. Businesses can post critical jobs needed to keep their operations moving. They can also list the number of jobs available, job requirements, shifts and wages if they so choose. Job seekers, meanwhile, can apply immediately. There are also links so people can email or call for more information.
The site is free for both job seekers and businesses to use. The Department of Commerce says it will be updated constantly.
The site is now available at the same time the Department of Labor has been swamped with hundreds of thousands of calls per day from residents seeking information about unemployment benefits. That information is online at www.getkansasbenefits.gov.
