The Emporia State mens basketball program has received another verbal commitment. Kong Kong a 6-6 guard/forward from Mankato, Minnesota and transfer from Rochester Community and Technical College made his verbal commitment via twitter.
As a sophomore he averaged 16 points and 10 rebounds per-game. He was an All-Region 13 selection and helped lead Rochester to the NJCAA Division III semi-finals. The finished the season with a 26-6 record.
Emporia State will have to wait until April 16th to make it official. That’s when the restriction on issuing institutional athletics financial aid agreements will be lifted.
The ban was issued to align with the recruiting dead period that was put in place thru April 15th.
Earlier this week that dead period was extended to May 31st. The dead period eliminates in person contact with prospective student athletes.
It was decided that the restriction on issuing financial aid agreements would not be extended beyond April 15th.
