The Coffey County Health Department is reporting more new coronavirus cases, both for the county as a whole and the growing cluster at a Burlington skilled care facility.
The Health Department notes seven new cases to push its total from 21 to 28. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment number from Sunday, 24, was listed by KVOE News earlier in the day. Totals at the county and state levels vary, in part due to the time the information is released and in part due to the amount of time it takes to process test results.
All seven confirmed cases from Sunday are connected to the Life Care Center in Burlington, pushing the facility total to 37, including residents and staff.
Health Department Director Lindsay Payer says Coffey County is not seeing widespread community transmission despite the caseload at Life Care Center.
