A small grass fire was handled quickly by Emporia firefighters Monday.
Lyon County District 4 was called out to Roads 180 and A, or the Lyon-Chase county line, around 6:15 am. Battalion Chief Ryan Conley says the controlled burn got out of control.
Less than five acres burned. There were no injuries and no buildings damaged.
