The 2020 American Legion baseball national tournaments have been canceled due to concerns about COVID-19.
That includes the Legion World Series and the 8 regional tournaments.
Emporia American Legion Coach Anthony Markwitz says he understands and supports the decision but at the same time he was hoping the defending AAA state champions would get a chance to experience that excitement again.
A decision about legion baseball in Kansas has not been announced.
The High School baseball season and all spring sports seasons were canceled in March.
