USD 253 Emporia Superintendent Kevin Case is optimistic about how the district’s continuous learning plan is meeting student needs.
On KVOE’s Newsmaker segment Wednesday, Case one of the key goals of education is fostering and developing relationships with students. That approach continues now, even with all students learning from home.
Case said the leadership as provided by Governor Laura Kelly and Education Secretary Randy Watson was important in providing a consistent, uniform framework and a list of best practices for districts across the state.
Case thanked the district’s technology team for its work in setting up the online part of the plan and he recognized ValuNet FIBER and Sparklight for their willingness to help. He also thanked teachers, administrators and staff for their involvement as well as Food Service for handling the grab-and-go meal program that has now served over 38,000 meals.
Changes in education have certainly caused adjustments for parents, and Case recognized that in the interview.
Our look at Lyon County continuous learning plans goes private for the rest of the week as we interview Sacred Heart Principal Darby O’Neill at 7:15 am Thursday and Emporia Christian School Principal Trisha Fullerton at 7:15 am Friday.
