A Wichita man and a Topeka man were both taken to Newman Regional Health early Sunday morning following an injury accident on the Kansas Turnpike.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol crash log, the accident occurred at KTA mile marker 112.9, 14 miles south of Emporia around 1 am. KHP reports that 21-year-old Addison Julian Scott Lesch of Wichita was traveling northbound in a 2003 Chevrolet Pickup Truck when he fell asleep at the wheel.
The Chevy then struck the median barrier wall twice and overturned. Lesch and a passenger, 35-year-old Timothy James Wallace of Topeka, were taken to Newman Regional Health with suspected minor injuries.
Both men were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.
