The Emporia City Commission will be holding a virtual action session Wednesday evening.
Commissioners will consider awarding a bid for the 2020 Emporia street resurfacing project. The city received two bids for the project from Killough Construction, Inc. of Ottawa and APAC Kansas, Inc. Shears Division.
Killough submitted the low-bid of $957,191. Separately commissioners will recognize the city of Emporia finance department for receiving the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Associations of the US and Canada.
This is the 34th year the city has received the honor.
Reports from commissioners and the city manager are also planned. The meeting will begin at 7 pm on the city commission’s Facebook page.
