Emporia and Hartford Neosho Rapids fire crews were called out to quell a grass fire Wednesday afternoon.
Crews were called to 828 Road F in Olpe, 13 miles south of Emporia, just before 1:30 pm. According to EFD, the fire began as a controlled burn which became out of control and scorched roughly 75-100 acres of grass before it was extinguished.
No structures were in the vicinity and no injuries were reported.
