It’s a transition day in the weather department.
There is a marginal risk of severe weather as part of a moderate chance of overall thunderstorm activity by late afternoon. Hail is the main concern and widespread severe storm coverage is not expected.
Overnight, rainfall could change to light snow. Up to an inch of snowfall is possible, but most areas may only get a dusting.
There are also concerns about frosty conditions overnight. Lyon, Morris and Wabaunsee counties are in a freeze warning from 10 pm Thursday to 10 am Friday, while Chase County is in a freeze warning from 10 pm to 9 am.
