Emporia Main Street has opened the window for citizens wanting a veterans banner this fall.
The application process is easy, according to Emporia Main Street Director Casey Woods.
Over 30 slots are currently available. Winners will be announced via Facebook Live on July 1. They will then need to pay the $200 fee and submit a picture of the veteran in uniform no later than July 15. Banners fly during the All Veterans Tribute for four years and are then returned.
The program started in 2014. It has been wildly popular and has expanded in size as a result, with banners now located from the All Veterans Memorial to the north edge of the Emporia State University campus.
