Kansas City Chiefs General Manager Brett Veach met with the media Thursday to preview the draft.
He also said the Kansas City Chiefs are working to retain franchise-tagged defensive tackle Chris Jones on a long-term deal.
The Chiefs also have to budget for what is expected to be a record-breaking extension for reigning Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes sometime in the next year or two.
The Chiefs will be bringing back 20 of the 22 starters that started in the Super Bowl. They were able to re-sign all but 2 free agents.
The Chiefs have 5 picks in next weeks draft with the first pick coming at number 32.
Veach says the goal is to add depth to an already good team.
