Emporia Fire dealt with a report of a small fire in northwest Emporia on Sunday evening.
Firefighters were called to 1925 West 24th No. 103 at Four Seasons Apartments around 9 pm after a report of an oven fire. Fire Capt. Ben Lienneman says residents turned on the wrong burner, causing a fair amount of smoke after a plastic container started melting.
There was no actual fire and no injuries.
