Newman Regional Health is tightening its visit restrictions yet again.
The hospital tightened its restrictions quickly at the start of the coronavirus pandemic last month. CEO Bob Wright had the details on the new restrictions the KVOE-Newman Regional Health COVID-19 Community Briefing on Tuesday:
The new set of restrictions will be in place for at least two weeks.
Previously, the hospital had allowed one visitor at a time so long as the visitor screened negative for COVID-19. Wright says visitors can call and the hospital will also help set up video meetings by way of Zoom if that option works.
Separately, Wright says patients who have inhalers and think they need to use them while at the hospital should bring their own until further notice.
Wright also followed up on comments from Dr. Ryan LaSota and Tara Orear from Friday’s program, saying the virtual visits at Newman Regional Health Medical Partners continue to go well. The visits are allowed for chronic condition management, acute conditions, wound care, specialist consultations and follow-up visits. Patients need to log into their patient portal account through the Meditech MHealth app or a desktop computer browser.
The Community Briefing is live on KVOE and KVOE-TV at KVOE.com every Tuesday and Friday morning at 10:06 am. Videos after every program are stored in KVOE.com’s KVOE-TV Video page.
