Put on hold for the time being: Emporia’s downtown sanitary sewer project.
Work has been paused now for close to two weeks. BG Consultants Principal Bruce Boettcher says the contractor halted work due to concerns about coronavirus. Work may begin shortly after the statewide stay-home order is lifted, but that’s not guaranteed at this time.
Work had gotten into the post-tap repair phase, but some service line work, pavement repairs and manhole lining work is still needed. Before everything shut down, work was set up to end sometime in July. A new timetable will be established later.
