Parts of Lyon and surrounding counties had moderate rain from scattered showers and embedded thundershowers Friday.
The KVOE studios got half an inch of rain. The Emporia Municipal Airport picked up 0.46 inches.
Totals were slightly lower in Chase County, where Cottonwood Falls got 0.37 inches and Matfield Green got 0.38 inches. In Greenwood County, Eureka picked up 0.59 inches.
There were some concerns about heavy rain leading to isolated lowland flooding, but there were no reports of flooding in the KVOE listening area.
This follows rain Wednesday night into early Thursday and another batch of rain early Monday. Emporia’s total for the week is 1.4 inches as reported at the KVOE studios. More rain is possible with scattered showers and storms Saturday afternoon and evening.
