Two vehicles suffered significant damage following a reported injury accident in south Emporia Friday evening.
Emergency crews were called to 111 Merchant Street shortly after 6 pm for a two-vehicle accident. According to Emporia Police Officer Justin Hill, a Ford pickup truck pulling a trailer was southbound on Merchant when the driver reportedly lost control due to slick conditions caused by heavy rainfall earlier in the day.
The truck then collided with the driver’s side of a parked Nissan Versa causing major damage to the vehicle and forcing it off the street into the front yard of a residence in the vicinity. The driver of the truck suffered minor injuries and did not require medical transport. Nobody was inside the Versa at the time of the accident.
