Newman Regional Health is having all its employees “mask up” for the foreseeable future.
The hospital says all clinical and non-clinical staff, including medical workers, administrators and support staff, will wear masks beginning Friday. This policy is in place at Newman Regional Health, the Medical Office Building, School of Nursing and off-campus work sites.
This follows a decision to have clinical staff wear additional protective equipment for all patient encounters since April 2 and reflects community spread of COVID-19, according to hospital CEO Bob Wright.
The hospital screens employees as they get to work and encourages staff to stay home if they have any oof the potential coronavirus symptoms, including fever, cough, shortness of breath, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat and recent loss of taste or smell.
