Food supply chain issues have been feared due to coronavirus, and those are starting to evidence themselves at the local fast-food level.
Wendy’s at 1928 West Sixth is not serving hamburgers at this time for the simple fact it’s out of ground beef. It’s among 20 percent of Wendy’s franchises across the country that are limiting or not selling beef products, according to the financial firm Stephens — which says the restaurant chain is more vulnerable to supply issues because of its reliance on fresh meat.
Wendy’s locally is still offering its remaining menu items.
Coronavirus has hit the food supply chain hard, especially at the food processing level with several plants nationwide now closed.
