Two rounds of intense thunderstorms brought large hail, destructive wind and heavy rain to most of the KVOE listening area Tuesday morning.
Storms crossed the area between 7 and 9 am and again between 10 am and noon. Hail to the size of baseballs fell between Emporia and Lebo in the first round, with rain totals anywhere from 1.2 to 2.5 inches in Emporia also in the first round of storms. Winds as high as 75 mph caused building damage in parts of Coffey, Morris and Osage counties in the second round of storms.
