Kansas lawmakers will have an extremely short veto session later this month.
The Legislative Coordinating Council voted Wednesday to bring lawmakers back to Topeka on May 21, the day the Legislature was already set to adjourn sine die, and conclude its remaining business that day.
Lawmakers were supposed to start the session April 27 but decided to delay matters because of coronavirus concerns. Lawmakers wrapped up the regular part of the session in March at the start of the pandemic in Kansas.
Lawmakers representing Lyon County have not yet commented on the Coordinating Council’s decision.
