Every summer the Emporia Municipal Band fills the air of Fremont Park with beautiful music, but due to COVID-19, the band has decided to cancel its summer season.
Emporia Municipal Band Director James Davis spoke with KVOE about the many exciting plans they had for the summer.
Davis continued on to say that the biggest concern the bands’ Board of Directors had was the safety of its concert goers. He also stated that maintaining proper social distancing is almost impossible when band members are normally shoulder to shoulder.
Plans have yet to be announced about the bands’ Veterans Tribute in November, or their Christmas concert at the Granada Theater.
